For
almost 250 years, the quality of Hine cognacs, refined through
six generations, has been recognised all over the world.
These
fine cognacs reflect the dedicated skill of the House of Hine.
Thomas
Hine was an adventurous Englishman who went to France to seek
his fortune. He married a French girl and worked in her father’s
cognac business. Following his determination to seek out and
use only the finest 'crus', raising cognac qualities to new
heights, he took over the company in 1821 and renamed it after
himself.
Six
generations have grown up in the business, which is headquartered
in the family House in Jarnac, France.
Hine
sells only VSOP quality and above in full respect of the family
tradition for more than 250 years. Hine’s cognacs are
aged longer than the legal constraints and are only aged in
Limousine oak barrels.
Hine’s
cognac quality has been awarded with 17 medals since 1999 and
with the Royal Warrant. Hine is recognised worldwide as the
expert in vintages – this means that the vintage is made
from eau-de-vie from a single year. Strict customs supervision
and the double key system guarantee the vintage appellation.
Hine
vintages are only Grand Champagne cognacs.
